Our Home Beach

This is a common sight I woke to every morning in our little condo

The little condo was surprisingly nice, here's a shot from the balcony inside, had a nice master bedroom and separate bath

Something about those slow moving Palm Fronds waving in the breeze is mesmerizingly relaxing, this was the view off our balcony, you can see the small field of cane growing between our hotel and the ocean, that line of trees is 10 feet from the breaking waves so we walked to the ocean every day.

This was our beach and our spot, I loved those mountains, the one in the middle was used as the opening scene in Indiana Jones and that is the first mountain range our helicopter pilot took us up against barely a hundred feet away.
This area had sharp rocks and undertows right about where that breaker is starting to hit so no one could swim here (the locals told us, "if you don't see a native walking into the ocean, don't follow some white guy who's too stupid to know where he's going :)

zoomed in shot of the mountain range

Susie would sit or stand in the waves forever just soaking it up and letting the world go away...

When you get off the plane there is a video running in the baggage claim warning about occasional waves washing you off your feet and dragging you out, the last day I got caught by two that exploded in front of me and were slightly alarming but most of the time it was a blast to be right next to the sharp rock drop off and watch the waves hit the rock ledges.
We don't like to swim so the fact that very few people came to this beach made is awesome for us.

A grove of trees ran along the border keeping us cool with the island breeze

This is looking back toward the hotel at the mountains on the other side.

The last couple of days were mostly chilling along our beach
